He holds onto the last thing she gifted him, a stuffed giraffe. Benjamin struggles to keep himself together as he goes through the motions of the days he used to spend with his love. The film shows the toll that can be taken on a person who has lost a loved one and the objects and activities they may cling to as a memory. I chose not to show the car accident in this piece to make the audience wonder what happened until the end. This film was the first piece where I had a crew and professional actors to help me bring my vision to life. I wanted a film that would cause an emotional reaction in the viewer, which I found challenging. This piece is also the first film in which I could use many different types of equipment I was unfamiliar with and try to expand my knowledge base more. I loved the thought behind this piece and the unique aspect of the story I came up with. As one of my first films made fully back in the classroom, I felt I could adapt and fully dive into the content I was creating.

1:32-2:16
TITLE: Paranoia
ROLE: Director, Writer, Cinematographer, Actor, Editor
MEDIA: Narrative Short
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere Pro
CAMERA: Canon 80D
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920×1080, H.264
DURATION: 2’32”
CLASS: FMX 241 Sound, Image, and Motion
PROFESSOR: Gregg Perkins
TERM: FA 19
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://youtu.be/OphdCHyEen4
DESCRIPTION: A man sitting alone in his home starts to hear suspicious noises coming from outside. Deeming the noises as the typical paranoia he faces, he fights to ignore the sounds and continue with his day. After being unable to handle his suspicion, he investigates the noises, only to find his paranoia may be accurate. This film shows the issues many people may face while alone and the thoughts that can consume them and make them feel unsafe. I made this film during my first semester at the University of Tampa and used it to dive into creating a cohesive narrative. No dialogue was allowed, so I had to play with conveying a message through the piece’s actions and emotions. In this project, I was in charge of everything to do with production, so I had to work with my sound, lighting, and cinematography. I also scored this piece later in my Sound in Media class to make the film more unique in my creative direction.

0:02-0:55
TITLE: Teen Wolf “You’re Cursed Scott” (Season 1 Episode 1) Scene Recreation
ROLE: Director, Cinematographer, Production Designer, and Editor
MEDIA: Narrative Short / Scene Recreation
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere Pro
CAMERA: Canon 80D
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920×1080, H.264
DURATION: 3’24”
CLASS: FMX 241 Sound, Image, and Motion
PROFESSOR: Gregg Perkins
TERM: FA 19
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://youtu.be/3DNrhUlDm1w
DESCRIPTION: This piece is a recreation of a scene from the television show Teen Wolf pilot episode. The scene shows Stiles as he discovers his friend might be a werewolf and tries to warn him to stay inside before someone gets hurt. I chose to recreate this piece because Teen Wolf is one of my favorite television shows, and I believed I could portray it uniquely. I studied the episode multiple times, ensuring I took detailed notes before turning on the camera. My favorite part of the assignment was that I could recreate my room to match Stiles’ room, and I kept it the same for months after I finished the project. This piece also got me into the art of set design which I hope to do more of in the future. Since this film was the first step I took into dealing with indoor lighting, I had trouble placing the lights in places where they were not seen. While recreating the scene as close as possible was a challenge, I believe that I did the piece justice.

0:05-1:05TITLE: Stuffed LoveROLE: Director, Writer, Cinematographer, EditorMEDIA: Narrative ShortSOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere ProCAMERA: Blackmagic 4k Pocket ProSPECIFICATIONS: 1920×1080, H.264DURATION: 3’33”CLASS: FMX… Read more NARRATIVE

["post-47","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
