DESCRIPTION: Since I struggle with anxiety and it is a big part of who I am, I wanted to show visually how I feel physically when I get an anxiety attack in this projection. The fire resembles how it feels like my insides are boiling and the panic starts to take over, while the eyes darting back and forth are a resemblance of how I try to look for a way out of the situation. To do this, I took several videos of myself reenacting these attacks and then compiled them into one video using Adobe Premiere Pro. In addition, I wrote a one minute script talking about what happens during one of my anxiety attacks. Lastly, using MadMapper, I imported the video and manipulated it by scaling and warping sections of the video to match the shape and size of the styrofoam heads, pill bottles, and the wall behind.

DESCRIPTION: My vision for this projection was to have a very creepy, stalker feel and almost send shivers down your spine when you watch. First, I took several videos of the actress in her home from certain angles to create the illusion she was being stalked. I then compiled the videos into one using a grid, and adding sound, in Adobe Premiere Pro to serve as the video used for projecting in this installation. I asked the girl in the video to let me borrow some of her clothing for this projection to take it a step further which would give the projection the edge it needed. Using MadMapper, I then imported the video and manipulated it by scaling and warping sections of the video to match the shape and size of the clothing on the wall.

DESCRIPTION: In simple terms, a Camara Obscura is a dark room with a little hole in the wall. When light is present, it shines through the hole and projects an upside down image of the outside world on the opposite wall. This is what modern cameras are derived from, except they are digital and the technology flips the image to be right-side up. I mimicked this ancient practice by covering the windows in my bedroom with black trash bags and cutting little holes in them. I then took a piece of cardboard and cut an even smaller hole in the center to define the projection that would be revealed on the opposite wall.
