For this short, it deals with me, as a person and character, trying to figure out who I am in this world with five simple questions, who, what, where, when, and why am I. This was a very personal project, written when I was at an extremely low point and created as a sort of pick me up. Editing-wise, I wanted it to look like the audience was viewing these events as they were the ones on the television, creating this effect with reversed text, lens distortions, and grid lines to give that old CRT television look.

Editing wise, this film was one of my hardest to work on. I had to get the feeling of a retro sitcom that’s falling apart at the seems just right. The vhs look took a long time to figure, researching old vhs I had and watching older sitcoms on new and old televisions. The contrast between the sitcom world and the real world needed to be heavy and drastic, with the change in aspect ratio and color illustrating the immediate change of tone in the characters and the setting.

This project was done to practice ADR for Advanced Post Production. This was my first real time doing any sort of ADR, so it was a bit of a struggle trying to match mouths as best as possible. I had a good time, and the scene selected was very fun to work with as you can feel the energy bouncing off of each character.
