This film follows a man living what he thinks is his true life in a sitcom, only to uncover the darker truth about where he really is. For this I wanted to recreate the comedy of an older 80s-90s sitcom, and the use of the Kathy character was my answer for that kind of funny random comedy of the time. Matt’s realization and depth of the character is something I wanted portrayed extremely easily, so the audience could follow along and still be captivating. The change in lighting and film format made the jump to reality striking and suspenseful, just like I wanted.
