For this, I wanted to create a trailer that would be used on social media, specifically in ads before Youtube videos. This trailer shows off the titular character of Pearl, and the kind of person she is and how powerful she can be. I wanted to draw the viewer in, see the performance of Mia Goth, and have a need to see this film.

The idea of Miss Eilish in its entirety is to see the artist for more than what they are on screen, which was conveyed through the mash up of Billie’s “Xanny” and “I Didn’t Change my Number”. The cigarette burn which leads to the distortion was meant to be seen as the viewer, or rather the greater population, distorting the image of the artists by adding their own interpretations of who the artist is.

The story of Responsibility is one of a drunk father who forgot to pick up his daughter from school, leading to her untimely death. The mother finds her body and calls the father, leading to the voicemail that was heard. The audio clips are completely unrelated, as they are free use sounds I found that I felt could be used to tell a greater story. For the text, I wanted to give the effect of wall strachtings you would see in a bar bathroom, barely able to read through one’s drunk vision.
