TITLE: Producing Work FMX 331
YOUR ROLE: Producer
MEDIA: Digital PDF
CLASS: FMX 331 Creative Triangle
PROFESSOR: Kris Atkinson
TERM: FA 20
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: The producing work I did for our first and second films; we were never actually able to shoot the first project (a modern version of Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation) because one of our members got Covid-19 and the rest of us ended up having to quarantine for ten days. We basically prioritized preproduction work over everything else, and that’s how our grade ended up being calculated. I did all of the scheduling work and my other group members took care of the storyboarding and wardrobe concepts. I didn’t have as much prep work for the second film since I was the art director, but I managed to squeeze in a call sheet and breakdown sheet anyway.

TITLE: Production Board
YOUR ROLE: Producer

CLASS: FMX 342 Producing for Motion Pics & Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Stuart Fail
TERM: SP 20
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: I did my whole producing project on Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation. Above is the production board for all of the scenes that were included in the first thirty pages that I had picked out to do in the script. Everything is color coded by day/night interior/exterior and is numbered according to the actors or extras that are in that particular scene. I was actually able to throw this together fairly quickly since I was really understanding all the aspects of it.

CLASS: FMX 342 Producing for Motion Pics & Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Stuart Fail
TERM: SP 20
INSTITUTION: The University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: This was one of the most time-consuming assignments to do since it required so much planning and going back and forth between the production board, but I loved organizing it! It was another one of those documents where everything just kind of made sense to me, and I think it really showed.

TITLE: Day out of Days
YOUR ROLE: Producer
MEDIA: Digital PDF
CLASS: FMX 342 Producing for Motion Pics & Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Stuart Fail
TERM: SP 20
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: The Dood sheet probably took me the least amount of time to do amongst everything else since it was fairly straight forward and we had the directions with all of the abbreviations and what they meant. The fact that the majority of the sheet revolved around days the extras were working was helpful too since I only had to work out one day for each of them.

TITLE: Budget Sheet
YOUR ROLE: Producer
MEDIA: Digital PDF
CLASS: FMX 342 Producing for Motion Pics & Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Stuart Fail
TERM: SP 20
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: I definitely had the most difficulty with the budgeting sheet. The extra fees and rates for getting SAG actors and then paying them per day hadn’t been clicking with me, and it was hard to gage exactly how much I really needed to put into certain areas such as post-production and/or publicity. The exactness of budgeting still escapes me today, and that may be because I’ve not been on an actual set where budgeting needs to happen. It would be much easier for me to pick up in real time versus having it strictly explained to me. This was by far my worst assignment, even though I didn’t fail it.
