DESCRIPTION: For this assignment, the class was instructed to get rid of the background in the original footage and place the driver in a scene of our choosing. I removed the greenscreen with After Effect’s keying tool and used 3D tracking to add the planets and bubble she sits in. Using 3D layers, I created a 3D room with images of stars in space to cover up the background.

DESCRIPTION: This assignment was part of our CGI integration module. I shot the footage myself and 3D tracked it in After Effects, which was then imported to Cinema 4D. I chose a 3D model of a washing machine to import back into After Effects. Using 3D text layers, I added text in front of and behind the washing machine to give more depth to the footage around the 3D model.

DESCRIPTION: This visual effects shot was my midterm for Visual Effects, where we had to implement 3D tracking, extra VFX footage, masking, and After Effects filters. The spray paint on the wall is implemented using tracking and the energy blasts from the witch’s wand and fire from the spray paint can are external footage. I used masks on the witch to create a green shadow from the blast and the lightning effect to get the power from the wand. The Lumetri color preset was used to color correct the scene.

Inspired by the popular fantasy television series Game of Thrones, the setting is in the dungeons of the Red Keep in King’s Landing and features Eddard Stark and Lord Varys. Using 2D images as 3D layers, it gives the illusion of a 3D space.
