DESCRIPTION: “FOR YOU” was my first video project for the SIM class. The prompt was to create a short video based on a Japanese-style poem “Haiku.” I found a poem I liked and asked one of my friends to help me record It at school, I used stock music and B&W to represent the past. It was also my first time using Premiere Pro, which I learned by myself. Thanks to this first approach, my interest in video editing and production increased a lot.

DESCRIPTION: “H A P P I N E S S” is a project where the main focus was to portray an emotion. The prompt was to record an interview with a Chiaroscuro composition and then record a reenactment for it. It was my first time creating a “script,” where with the help of my mom and stepdad we created a fake story on how he proposed to her. I tried using a variety of compositions and camera angles for this project. After the recording was done, I used Premiere Pro to edit and color correct it.

DESCRIPTION: “F L A S H B A C K” is a project where the main focus was to portray the different human senses. The short film follows a young man who relives old traumas after his mother’s death, leading to his suicide. It was my first time recording in various locations. After the recording was done, I used one of my favorite songs of the moment for the soundtrack and used Premiere Pro to edit and color-correct it. It was my first approach to experimental filmmaking and I wish I had more time to finish this project and the idea overall.

TITLE: EMBRACE THE ERROR
MEDIA: Experimental Video
SOFTWARE: Premiere Pro
HARDWARE: PC
CLASS: FMX 463 Multimedia Installation
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
TERM: FA 22
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: “EMBRACE THE ERROR” is an Experimental video art short. We were tasked to create a 1-minute video that went out of the usual video conventions. My short is about a man dealing with the terrible consequences of causing a car accident while drunk, which led to his wife’s death. I aimed to create an unsettling atmosphere with this piece by incorporating increasing levels of white noise and visually intense elements. The sound builds throughout the short, heightening tension, while the use of blurry, high-contrast visuals adds to the eerie, disorienting mood.
