Description: For this film, myself along with Jacob Solganik and Heidi Abramavicius, thought it would be cool to make a film all about the experience of being “under the influence” of drugs, specifically edibles. While the filmming of the project was a great time, this was not the main focus of it, hence why all three of us edited different parts of the film. While I focused more on the assembly and order of clips and Jacob on the sound and titles, Heidi thought it would a neat addition to the experience if we added a bunch of cool effects to help demonstrate the different possibilities of what edibles can do to affect people.

Title: Duck VS Machine: A Stop Motion Project

Duration: 1:30

Display Time: 0:00-0:30

My Role: Director/Editor/DP/Animator

Type: Experimental Stop Motion

Camera: Canon T3i

Software: Dragonframe

Class: FMX 314 Experimental Filmmaking

Professor: Dana Plays

Semester: SP 23

Institution: University Of Tampa

Description: For this project I was tasked with making a stop motion film. Before this, I had some experience with stop motion as a kid but it was never anything where I used a professional program like Dragonframe. For this project I just wanted to make the dumbest thing I could think of without having to buy anything. I had a bunch of little rubber ducks and these little fidget robots laying around and so I thought I may as well put them against each other in a battle over a cow. While this project turned out great, I did learn that absolutely under no circumstances do I ever want to make another stop motion film ever again. I’ll leave that to the professionals like those who work for Laika Studios.

Title: Made on Earth by Humans

Duration: 3:07

Display Time: 0:00-0:30

My Role: Director/Editor

Type: Experimental

Video Sources: Prelinger, Youtube, No Man’s Sky

Software: Premiere Pro

Class: FMX 314 Experimental Filmmaking

Professor: Dana Plays

Semester: SP 23

Institution: University Of Tampa

Description: For this project I was tasked with creating a film that had three seperate “windows” each playing different clips at the same time. For this one, since I am so obsessed with space exploration, I chose to use these different panes to explore the past, present, and possible future of space exploration. I wanted to get across to my audience the strides NASA and other companies have taken from the “tin can” that was the Gemini capsule back in the 1960s all the way to the Space Shuttle and the Dragon Capsule we have today and also show people an example of what is possible in the future as everyday we move closer towards a reality that includes some type of interstellar travel.

Title: Leaving Earth

Duration: 2:45

Display Time: 0:00-0:44

My Role: Director/Editor/DP

Type: Experimental

Camera: Blackmagic 4k

Software: Premiere Pro

Class: FMX 314 Experimental Filmmaking

Professor: Dana Plays

Semester: SP 23

Institution: University Of Tampa

Description: For this project I was tasked with creating a film using the keying effects located inside Premiere Pro. Having previously explored the (new at the time) Tech Building as well as the Chapel on campus, I thought it would be cool to use the keying effect to show the differences between these two buildings as well as once again giving me an excuse to go explore more of the campus I call home. My goal with this piece was to really just make something that I thought was visually entertaining. The thought behind the project didn’t really come until after finishing the editing process. This is when I discovered this film was about combining some of my different interests such as space, wood work, and some funky art.

Title: Chaos, Disorder, and the Bitter Side of Truth

Duration: 3:45

Display Time: 0:00-1:00

My Role: Director/Editor

Type: Experimental

Video Source: Prelinger Website

Software: Premiere Pro

Class: FMX 314 Experimental Filmmaking

Professor: Dana Plays

Semester: SP 23

Institution: University Of Tampa

Description: For this project I was tasked with making three mini-films with different footage I found off of the Prelinger website as well as a speech that I recorded in class. For this film I chose to focus two of the three films on how destruction has shaped our world’s history . For the third film I chose to have different clips of a rocket ship traveling to different planets and my voice recording of the speech Nixon would have read if the Apollo 11 astronauts died during their mission. I chose this combination of things because I wanted to juxtapose the ideas of destruction and discovery and bring to the audience the idea that everything humans have ever discovered is due to some sort of tragedy or destruction that happened first.

Description: For the first project of my Experimental Filmmaking class, I was tasked with creating a film that utilized the opacity tool within a majority of NLEs. For this project, I wanted to get across the point that water not only flows on its own, but it is also one of the necessary aspects of life as everything in nature is in someway formed by water. I just really enjoyed this project not only as a way for me to get outside but also as a way for me to slow down for a little bit and appreciate the world around us and how that world is brought to life.
