During the summer of 2024, I was fortunate enough to be selected for a NASA internship. As one of the two VAM-R/Video Based Procedures Development Interns, my job was multi-faceted, just like our project. The first half of the internship was devoted to completing a trade study on the different available Virtual, Augmented, and Mixed Reality (VAM-R) software and hardware that could be used for both astronaut training and situations on the International Space Station and beyond. The second half of the internship was devoted to putting together a “how to guide” for payload developers (PDs) to use if they want to use a video procedure for their experiment instead of a text one.
