DESCRIPTION: At the end of the Spring 2022 semester, the University of Tampa Gamer Guild hosted their first-ever Super Smash Brothers tournament, an event that successfully drew in many new members for the club. I had the opportunity to interview both Maddy Wessling, the president, and Chase Hoffmann, the vice president, to ask about the event and the club in general, as well as their experience as members of the Gamer Guild.

DESCRIPTION: Throughout the Spring 2022 semester, I challenged myself to learn a few songs on my brother’s keyboard. Of the three songs I selected, the most difficult was “In Loving Memory of Allie” from the Studio Ghibli video game Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch. The song has a nostalgic feel as it mourns the loss of the protagonist’s mother, Alicia. For my observational documentary assignment, I let the camera record a long take of one of my many practice sessions. The unedited footage accurately depicts the patience it took to practice almost daily over a series of months.
