This is a rough cut of my latest short film. I wanted to take on a very big project after working with a few seniors on their capstone projects the previous semester. I rented an airbnb for the weekend as a set, recruited and auditioned actors found on backstage, assembled a crew, and found makeup artists. I typically shoot all my own projects, but to make my job a little easier, I had Tatianna Gerlits shoot the majority of the film, with me as the DP. I created shot lists for the entire film to help her as much as possible, and she did an amazing job, especially with the reflection in the glasses at the very end (her idea).
Anyway, this was one of the most intense weekends of my life, but it was also the most fun I’ve ever had shooting a project. The audio had a ton of problems during the recording, and when I find the time I will be replacing it with ADR. The video has not been color corrected, I want to learn more about that before attempting it.

This was an exercise for narrative productions. The prompt was “person A wants what person B has”. At the time, my roommates were constantly stealing things from me, from toothpaste, to conditioner, to butter. So I decided to make this a passive-aggressive attack on them.

This long take was also for narrative productions. This was the third take, and I am pretty satisfied with the result. If I had more time and less weird looks from everyone in the post office, I think it could’ve been even better.
