This Project was a remake of a scene from the movie “Ready or Not”. I was a part of G&E on this set which was really exciting because the lighting was very warm toned and soft which made for a great learning experience on different lighting set ups. We ended up using the dolly while we were filming, and I was put on as a dolly grip which I had never done before that so that was also a great experience for me to learn how to move to dolly while trying to keep it from shaking.

This project we recreated the scene from “Twilight” where Edward and Bella meet for the first time. I was on production design on this set and helped by bringing plants and making posters for the background. I set up and took down the decorations in the classroom and office and made sure the talent knew what costumes to wear and that they remembered to wear them.

This project was my final for Cinematography, my group decided to remake the “Bet on it” scene from “High School Musical 2.” This scene was great to recreate because it had longer takes which made for a challenging and dynamic set. Also, the weather was very rainy on the day we filmed so we had to play around a lot with the color grading after to make it feel more cohesive.

For this project we were given a shot from the movie “The Lighthouse” to recreate. I was on camera for this shoot and told my group specifically where to go, how to stand, and where to put lights. One of the challenges on this set was that we filmed during the day, so we had to block out the window really well because the original scene had very little light. I learned a lot on this set about how cinematography and lighting work together to create the look of a shot and also how important attention to detail is for creating good cinematography.

This project was the continuity project for Cinematography, I love horror and really wanted to incorporate that into this project. The story is that a woman gets home to find an antique doll with a note in her apartment. I wanted this to be very suspenseful without ever getting the satisfaction that being scared after the suspenseful moment, so I decided to cut right as she picks up the note leaving it very open ended.
