This project was my first time ever doing stop motion animation, so I wanted to try a few different approaches. I made the first segment using magazine cut-outs, the second segment I used a coloring book page and colored pencils and the last segment I used trinkets and jewelry that I collect and brought them to life. I make this with an at home setup and had a really fun time creating it, looking back I wish I had taped the backgrounds I used down because I kept bumping them, so they moved around a lot, but I really enjoy how it turned out.

For this project we used macro lenses in class to create extreme close ups of our subjects. I had a lot of fun making this project, I’ve always loved macro cinematography and am so glad I got to create some of my own. at first it was a bit hard to get what I wanted in focus but once I got the hang of it, it became very easy. I worked with Vanessa Mota on this project and had a blast trying out different things to see what worked and what didn’t with her.

For this project we had different stations for a few different ways of doing cinematography. The first one was made by using the cobra crane with I had never used myself, but I helped set up during cinematography, so it was nice to be able to use it myself. the second was made using the lens baby, that was super cool to use and made a really interesting distortion on the image. The last one was the slider which ended up dying midway through me using it, but it was still very fun to use.

For this project we had to use Chromakey and Ultra key to create a green screen effect. My idea was a kind of ode to my safe space which is my bedroom. While designing how I wanted it to look I built a lot of stuff by hand and thrifted trinkets to fill the space, designing it was a really fun way of expressing myself and letting myself be creative. Adding in the green screen effects after and combining parts of my room together made for a really relaxing, colorful look that really captures the aesthetic of my space.

For this project we had to make three separate segments using Perlinger Archive footage and combine them together to make a short film. My concept was girlhood and how we force young girl to grow up too fast. This project mostly had footage of young people with an emphasis on young girls and boys holding hands, women looking at makeup, and women going to work all of this is to show the pressure for women to look and be certain way.

This project was the first project for Experimental Filmmaking, we have to make a film that showed an altered nonlinear state of mind. My concept was a bad high or bad trip experience, I used shots of things around my house that in the context of a bad high would be considered scary but are in reality funny things around my house. The film started pretty slow and calm with lots of fluid motions that are more relaxing then jarring and slow switches to more unpleasant movements, sounds, and images.
