This project was my final for Narrative Production, it follows the story on three men that get invited to a writers retreat and convince themself that they have been locked inside by the women running the retreat only to discover they were pulling a push door. In this film I wanted to have the men each represent a different subset of misogynistic men that have appeared in recent years due to the internet and ability to spread and share information, there’s the men’s health writer who is a Patrick Bateman type, the romance writer who writes women as manic pixie dream girls, and the political journalist who is obsessed with himself. I wanted to show how even the most excepting and feminist seeming men can still sometimes fall into misogyny as it is the basis of American society.

This was for a small project for Narrative Production, I went home for the weekend to visit my family and dogs and decided I wanted combined two things I love and have my puppy to be a part of my project. He was a very good actor but got tired at the end, so we gave him lots of treats to keep his energy up. I wanted this project to show the joys of walking for not only dogs but also people. I really enjoy going on walks in nature and being able to feel grounded with my surroundings especially when I have a dog to keep me company.
