DESCRIPTION: This film is a follow-up to the film above “Deathwish” and my final project for Experimental. I loved how Deathwish came out so I tried to capture the same atmosphere and mood. I took a different approach to the cinematography but kept the same general idea. I also played around with some interesting effects and included some green screen shots.

DESCRIPTION: This was a Trypitch film, meaning there is always three video tracks playing at the same time. I choose to film a road trip across Florida and combine that footate to make the viewer feel as though they are on the trip too. I used many different effects to draw attention and keep the film from feeling repetitive. I also made a point to do rhythmic edits to the music. This film has a somewhat surreal drug like feel to it.

DESCRIPTION: For this film we were required to use keying effects in Premiere. I had a lot of fun trying these effects and giving this film an optical illusion feel. I got normal time lapse and slow-mo landscape shots around Tampa, then I modified the footage to distort the viewer’s perspective and blend the shots together.

DESCRIPTION: This was my stop motion project for experimental. I choose to use a whiteboard as my canvas and draw in between frames. I don’t consider myself a very good artist but I had fun making my drawings come to life. I tried to also incorporate my hand into the sequence and interact with the drawings.

DESCRIPTION: For this assignment we had to use found footage from the Prelinger archive. There are three separate films inside of this one file. Each relates in some way to national parks. The first film is a purely observational film about Yellowstone. The second is about climbing Mount Rainier. Text is added in between shots. The final film is about the establishment of Yosemite national park. The Yosemite film has a voiceover of me explaining the history.
