DESCRIPTION: Using a selfie and a roughly 400-word text that was written by me, I created this calligram for my digital media class. This project taught me a lot about Illustrator’s typography elements, and how easy it is to manipulate text within it. The text is describing the lullaby “You Are My Sunshine” and the meaning it holds for me and my family.

DESCRIPTION: This is a logo I created for a project in class, but I plan to use it professionally. I really like the name Sunny Day Films, and feel that the simplicity of the logo works well with the name. I also think it would be fun to try to animate it to have a dynamic logo to put at the beginning of my films.

DESCRIPTION: This project was for an assignment where I had to explore the different brush options in Illustrator. I spent the most time on the sailboat painting, and I really like how it turned out, but it was fun to create all of the small paintings so that I could learn all of the Illustrator brushes better, although I do find it a little difficult to draw people.

DESCRIPTION: This solar system creation was part of an assignment to learn how to manipulate polygons as well as gradients within Illustrator. The asteroid belt took a lot longer than I thought it would, but I think that it added the right amount of detail that the piece was missing without it. Creating all of the planets in detail in different layers allowed me to learn how to manipulate different assets in Illustrator better. I really had fun creating this piece.

DESCRIPTION: This was my first time using Adobe Illustrator, and I found it a lot of fun to use. It was a challenge at first, learning the tools to get my shapes to form correctly and be able to manipulate them in the way I wanted. After I got used to the tools though, this project became almost therapeutic in creating.
