Creating this documentary was one of the most fun production experiences I have ever had, and it is what motivated me to pursue documentary filmmaking as a career path, as opposed to just narrative. I find the process of documentary filmmaking so enjoyable, and I love examing the world around me, and this documentary allowed me to expand my knowledge in both regards.

SEMESTER / TERM: 2022 Fall Semester
INSTITUTION: The University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: This documentary highlights the cultural change that occurs when a college football game is played. It shows the highs and lows of fan emotion, teen and adult alike. Due to rules that the stadium had in place, no cameras were allowed in, but I felt compelled to showcase this environment and thus had to shoot on my iPhone. Though challenging, I am quite pleased with the results and feel as though it tells the story of student, alumni, and visitor culture at big state college sporting events well.

DESCRIPTION: Two classmates and I decided to “run-and-gun” a standup interview documentary where we stopped strangers on the UTampa campus and asked them “If you could give one piece of advice to the world, what would it be?”. We received a range of answers, which made me enjoy this assignment a lot. I bounced between our close-up side angle on Camera B and our medium close-up front angle on Camera A, alternating with another group member. When it came to editing this piece, I found it a lot of fun being able to bounce between the serious answers and the joke answers, to keep the tone upbeat but enlightening.
