DESCRIPTION: In a small, nothing happens town, Elizabeth Morgan, a young reporter, gets her big break when Lucas Emerson, a young boy who is new to town, goes missing. In the midst of the hectic scramble to find him, the media begins to report false information about him and his disappearance. Desperate to find Lucas, his parents hire a private detective to investigate Lucas’ disappearance. It slowly comes to light that Elizabeth is purposely reporting false information to throw the police off her trail, as she is Lucas’ kidnapper. She saw Lucas as an opportunity to spring herself into the spotlight and make herself seem like a hero when she finally reports that she found Lucas, though she never makes it to that part of her plan.
