TITLE: Rotoscope animation
MEDIA: 2D animation
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: This animation illustrates how my mornings typically feel. I aimed to personify the sensations I experience, such as when my feet hit the floor and they’re asleep, which is represented by a TV snow background, or how my head feels fuzzy and similar to radio static. The project involved filming myself, uploading the frames to Photoshop for tracing, and hand drawing certain effects, like my face melting.

TITLE: Autoscopy
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For this project I explored the concept of “autoscopy”, a visual hallucination of seeing oneself. I took inspiration from the uncanny feeling of self-alienation that can happen when viewing old and even new photographs of yourself, and created a piece from that. I started with a current picture of myself at the time, which transitions to younger photos of me as you look down the image in slightly pixelated and overly saturated colors. Them being inside the cellphone screen serves as a frame and portal to another time while also representing the influence of technology in shaping how I perceive myself.

TITLE: Calligram
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Illustrator
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For this project we had to create a calligraphic portrait of ourselves. I found a lot of satisfaction in choosing how the words would flow on my features to create an illusion of depth and texture in my face. The text was mostly mindfulness ramblings and phrases i might say as a mantra, however I think the colors and shapes were more important for the final illustration.

TITLE: BW to color complementary
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For this project I made three different colorized versions of a black and white photo of myself using complementary, triad, and analogous color schemes. The complementary color scheme has contrasting hues of orange and blue, and at first I had tried making my skin tone the orange color however it did not look quite as good as turquoise did.

TITLE: BW to color Analogous
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: My personal favorite from this project is my purple monochromatic portrait. I think the shades of purple work really well for my hair and skin and are contrasting just enough to maintain the texture and depth.

TITLE: BW to color triad
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: This is my triad color scheme for the project, which I mainly took inspiration from pop art portraits for.

TITLE: Somewhere project
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For this project I inserted myself into the scene from inception where ariadne appears in an ocean. I recreated the harsh cool light from the sun in that scene and showered in clothes to enhance the realism when I took the pictures for it. The part I found most challenging was blending myself into the ocean because I had to create artificial waves and make it seem like my limbs were submerged underwater.

TITLE: Multiplicity
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
SOFTWARE: Adobe Photoshop
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For the Multiplicity Project, I took six different pictures of myself in various positions inside the car, interacting with myself as the driver. I believe that the key to achieving a realistic look was taking the photos as quickly as possible. I actually set a timer on my phone to capture all the shots within a specific time frame and from there it was cleaning up and masking in photoshop.

TITLE: HTML drawing
MEDIA: Digital Illustration
CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
SEMESTER / TERM: Fall 21
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For this project, I traced an image I found online using HTML code and gave it a distinct vaporwave aesthetic compared to the original. I experimented with various colors and ombre effects within the code.
