TITLE: Visual Effects Final
MEDIA: VFX
SOFTWARE: Adobe After Effects
CLASS: FMX 322 Visual Effects
PROFESSOR: Marcio
SEMESTER / TERM: FA 22
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: For my final project I used a variety of visual effects techniques we had used throughout the semester. The storyline is that someone starts a fire while cooking and as flames start to engulf the kitchen a wizard guy intervenes and unleashes a flurry of particles that extinguish the fire. After filming my sequence I used a combination of compositing techniques, fake camera movements, particle effects, light transitions, masking, tracking, and so forth. For the introduction I used my digital matte techniques as well.

DESCRIPTION:For my midterm project I wanted to create a dynamic teleportation sequence that uses camera motion rather than static footage. The most important part of the project was getting the motion tracking correct. From there it was using the stamp tool and content aware fill to remove my subject, as well as many effects like turbulent displacement and glow to really create the illusion of teleporting.

DESCRIPTION: This was a project with a provided clip of someone firing a laser gun to which we had to add the blast and laser effects to. To create the blast I used particle effects as well as provided element footage. To simulate the impact of the laser blast I used a simple ripple effect which created a convincing shockwave.

SEMESTER / TERM: FA 22

DESCRIPTION: This project involved turning a picture into a 3D environment. Using digital painting tools, masking, and camera projection techniques, I worked on extended and duplicating areas in the background for a more realistic feel. I liked that this process combines a few traditional painting techniques with digital tools, however I learned that you have to be very meticulous in your quality control and cleanup of edges.

DESCRIPTION: For this project I aimed to create a super-mario style game aesthetic, but with rappers. I used keying effects to create the illusion of movement with my lil yachti pixel sprite, and integrated it into a pixel art background I sourced from online.
