TITLE: I SEE YOU!
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, sync dialogue
DURATION: 0’03”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/dialogue.html
DESCRIPTION: This animation had to include synced dialogue with an animated character. I made a dialogue with a ghost saying “I See You.” The ghost squints its eyes when it says “you.” I felt the squinting gave the ghost more emotion. I feel I did a good job syncing the ghost’s dialogue. I was very happy with the piece. I learned how to sync animated drawings with audio.

TITLE: Availi Bird Walk
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, mute
DURATION: 0’05”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/walk-cycle.html
DESCRIPTION: I created a walk-cycle by looping the same frames over and over to make it look like they are walking. I made an Avali walking away from KFC. Avalis are bird like raptors from space and the joke is that Avalis are space chickens and KFC makes chicken wings out of them. The Avali was difficult to make but, I was able to make the walk cycle. I learned the steps it took to make a walk-cycle.

TITLE: Lift the Boulder
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, mute
DURATION: 0’02”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/weight.html
DESCRIPTION: I created an animation of a dragon trying to lift a rock. I had the dragon make 2 attempts but, the dragon failed to lift it. I chose to have the dragon fail at lifting the rock because I thought the animation would be funnier. I learned how to improve my animation drawings.

TITLE: Federation Legionaire
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, mute
DURATION: 0’02”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/headturn.html
DESCRIPTION: This animation required any character we wanted turning their head. I created a head turn animation of a character from my story, War of Dragons. The head turn depicts a Federation Legionary. The Federation Legionaire’s head turns from left to right. The animation was a bit harder to do as this was the first time I drew a 3-D image. First, I learned how to draw a 3-D image and then incorporate action for the image.

TITLE: Flour Sack Duel
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, mute
DURATION: 0’02”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/flour-sack-animation.html
DESCRIPTION: This animation required our own individual flour sack performing an action. I made an animation using two flour sacks. These flour sacks are from different factions in my story War of Dragons. The flour sack on the left is under the Raddmoses Kingdom symbol (“the good guys”). The flour sack on the right is under the symbol of The Confederate Union. The flour sack on the right throws a rock at the flour sack on the left. Then the flour sack on the left shoots the flour sack on the right. It was nice to incorporate part of my story into an animation. I learned how to improve my animation techniques and work better with a drawing.

TITLE: Overlap Ball on a String
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, mute
DURATION: 0’02”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/overlapping-action-and-follow-through.html
DESCRIPTION: I made a ball on a string move while connected to a rectangular platform. The platform moves from left to right and stops abruptly. While the platform is moving the ball is dragging behind the rectangular platform. When the platform stops the ball swings back and forth. This project was a little more challenging than the bouncing ball because there were more moving parts. I learned how to add more action to animations.

TITLE: Bouncing Ball
YOUR ROLE: Animator
MEDIA: Frame-by-Frame Animation
SOFTWARE: Toon Boom Harmony
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080px, 24fps, mute
DURATION: 0’02”
CLASS: FMX 238 Animation I
PROFESSOR: Dana Corrigan
SEMESTER / TERM: FALL 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
LINK: https://richard2danimation.blogspot.com/2021/12/bouncing-ball.html
DESCRIPTION: My first animation assignment required me to create a bouncing ball animation. I created a bouncing ball animation that bounced a ball off of three platforms. Each platform turned a different color when the ball bounced on the platform. The project was fun to do and is very pleasing to watch. I learned how to plan an animation.
