School brought out the start of figuring out who and what I was going to be. It taught me to see that I wasn’t an individual that did things for the sake of it. But rather that the information that I took needs to be applied in practice so that I could expand and create something that I was proud off and original. This could be seen through my love for sports such as basketball but also my love for computers in creating video and logos.

Being surrounded by technology it was clear that the best avenue was using a creative field on a computer which lead to me to Animation. During my arrival in college I found a love in 3D animation & Modeling in which I saw an interface that I had never seen before but it interested me so much that it kept pushing me. I knew 2D animation was the foundation before expanding more in 3D which therefore thanks to Dana Corrigan it pushed me straight into the 2D atmosphere and showed the entire 2D production process enabling me to animate what my heart desired. While 2D was important that didn’t stop me from learning about 3D on my own time.

While 3D always was on my mind something else had to come up that would change my lack of love for sleep. That class was Santiago’s coding class. Thanks to this class it brought me to a place were critics were essential to improve and hard work would pay off if your really put in your all. Entering my junior and senior year was a moment where everything fit together perfectly as my focus was completely on 3D and a new professor that specialized in 3D started teaching. Through such little time, Marcio Goncalves provided me with all the tools for me to understand the pipeline in current industries and apply it to the best of my abilities. With multiple conversation and practice it enabled me to meet my career goal much clearer.

The best of my personal work can be seen through my illustrations and my 3D Models. Through all of this it sure that improvement can be made, specifically concerning the lack of liveliness of my 3D models. Many of models do animate and could be appreciated but my models doesn’t come to life due to the animations not having a storyline or dialogue with another character. Due to this weakness my intention is to focus on this issue by focusing my senior project on a characters liveliness and bring that character to life through a storyline.

After graduation my intention is to follow my education into an MFA in 3D animation & Modeling. Thanks to my BFA in Animation this will have given mean all the tools that will be built on top through my experience in my MFA and working with other animators. Through this all it has gotten me closer and closer to my motivation of working in big industries such as Lucasfilm, Industrial Light & Magic and Pixar’s.
