” Abandoned “

Statement:
For this project I wanted to create an installation that looked like it was in a sort of post-apocalyptic setting. I thought it would be interesting to have destruction, things burning down, scattered belongings while nature would start to take back the world after humanity disappears.

“Bottled Up Emotions”

Statement:
For this project I really wanted my piece to give off a sort of ‘magical’ vibe.
I created these bottled up containers hosting 3 different emotions.
I noticed that having a back light helped create a more complete ambiance and with a click of a button it could also change the mood. The 3 emotions being contained are, in order: Love, Sadness, and Anger. Emotions that sometimes- I myself have a hard time conveying thus, keeping them bottled up and stowed away.
Statement:

My goal for this project was to create something that was fleeting. I Created images that I thought would look visually pleasing, then either crumpled it up or set it on fire. I especially love the visual aspect of fire, If I could I would’ve had this project completely consist of flames. I only had one chance to record each piece being destroyed.

I enjoyed creating things and not going back. As an artist, I usually like to keep anything I create. Some things actually came out pretty nice and it was hard to let go but that was part of the challenge. I included a “glitching” effect to sort of represent the struggle of destroying my art. I threw everything out when I was finished recording and it felt almost liberating.

This piece was created for my creative coding class.
We had to create an eternal loop animation using MATH.
