DESCRIPTION: The Croaking Frog was my group’s final narrative project for the course. I wrote the script, created the shot list with my DP, directed casting, and edited the final project. It is a short, surreal, slow burn thriller about Anna and her rather controlling roommate, leading Anna to finally retaliate. The process of creating this short film made me gain lots of experience in terms of directing actors and crew, as well as brought various challenges when it came time to edit. This project helped push me to find ways in creating a satisfying resolution in an otherwise rather absurd and surreal narrative.

CLASS: FMX 312 Narrative Production
SOFTWARE: DaVinci Resolve
PROFESSOR: Taylor Curry
SEMESTER / TERM: 2023 Fall Semester
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: A Disagreement was my group’s coverage continuity assignment for the course. It is a one minute short that follows a simple conflict between two roommates and a Dr. Pepper. The Disagreement was a precursor to The Croaking Frog, and served as practice for how we would frame the shots of the roommates and their inner emotions. It was most of all, a fun project that allowed us to mimic the silent era aesthetic, while still subverting silent era tropes.
Tissues in Kansas – November 2023
DISPLAY TIME: 0:00 -> 0:44
YOUR ROLE: Director, Co-Writer, Co-Editor, Actor
CAMERA: Blackmagic pocket cinema camera 4K
SEMESTER / TERM: 2023 Fall Semester
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: Tissues in Kansas was part of a 48 hour challenge me and my fellow students took part of. It is a short comedy, following two detectives as they interrogate a young woman for her possible involvement in the disappearance of her friend. I directed, co-wrote, acted, and edited the project under the 48 hour deadline. This was a fun, challenging, and hectic experience that instilled the skill to shoot what you need and get out.
Sin Esperanza – November 2023
DISPLAY TIME: 0:37 -> 1.32
YOUR ROLE: Director, Writer, Editor, Actor
CAMERA: iPhone 14 pro MAX
SEMESTER / TERM: 2023 Fall Semester
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: An independent short film created by my parents and I, during my time at University of Tampa. I directed, wrote, edited, and acted in the film. The story follows a mother who soon develops an ailment that prevents her from doing housework, causing her to be restless when she’s unable to do anything. This was a fantastic learning experience for me when it comes to directing non-professional actors, writing a compelling slice of life narrative, and editing with the limited coverage I had. My parents were fantastic to work with and made me truly appreciate the trust one should have in your actors.
