DESCRIPTION: The use of vector shapes isn’t exclusive to previous projects I’ve done in programs like Illustrator as Adobe Dreamweaver uses them as the basic form of shapes you can create, and even animate. Fro this Vector Mandala, I wanted to make it so that the mandala’s various layers were not only distinct and vibrant but also variable depending on where the mouse was on the canvas. Essentially I wanted to make it so my mandala was four or five different ones depending on where the view guided the mouse. To achieve this, I simply experimented with creating shapes, repeating them a certain amount of times and seeing what patterns they created when I set certain points on them to select coordinates on the canvas. I made sure that a handful of the layers were distinct and did not severely overlap with each other, so that the shapes of each one could be easily seen through one another.
