DESCRIPTION: This piece was the culmination of a semesters worth of experimental work. I really focused on color and composition of image, using all the tools I learned in this class. The most used tool would be Chroma-key, as I love how you can completely change an image with essentially one click. Using an all red outfit, I was able to change my sisters outfit very easily, as seen in the film at around 0:45.

DESCRIPTION: This is one of my favorite works that I’ve created. It took many countless hours taking the photos for the stop motion, and each section was carefully crafted to my best effort. The longest of which would be the puzzle, where over 1000 pieces were placed and then removed individually to create the video. I splashed paint and taped ribbons on a blank canvas to create other portions of the film. Lastly, the anthology ends in the glow stick dance, where I moved glow sticks over a dark towel to make visually interesting motion.

DESCRIPTION: This was my first experience using chroma key. I really enjoyed exploring all of the different possibilities that Chroma Key could produce. I mainly used a camera filming out the window of my car to collect landscapes of the city. Then I found as many patterns in my house that I would be able to project onto different buildings and the sky.

DESCRIPTION: Visions was my first Experimental film in this class, so it was fun to play around with what an experimental film actually is. Using a telephoto lens, I was able to capture interesting images with a circular border. The main goal of this assignment was to use opacity, so I tried to make my subjects singular objects and overlay images that encompassed the whole screen as a pattern.

DESCRIPTION: This is a collection of experimental works created from films from the Prelinger archive. The first plays with time manipulation, the second is paired with a reading of a poem, and the third is related to words, letters, and the jumbled dialogue in the audio. This piece was a good way to create experimental works with found footage rather than personally recorded.

DESCRIPTION: This piece was one of my most creative pieces. I screen recorded a YouTube clip from the Gremlins movie, and it just so happened that my computer was experiencing terrible internet and the video came out extremely glitchy. This effect turned out to be exactly what I needed for my assignment. I saturated and warped the colors, while also looping and skipping the video clip to create one of my favorite pieces of visual art.

DESCRIPTION: This was my first ever experimental film. The idea was very new to me, so I didn’t know quite how to approach it. I recorded visually interesting images at a golf course and paired them with an ominous character to create intrigue and a particular mood for the film.
