DESCRIPTION: “Innocence Castle” is a live projection piece made with MadMapper. I took a wooden castle, painted it white, and projected videos in each of the castle sections. All of the footage has something to do with my childhood. Some are pictures from my childhood home, fun memories, my plushies, and even a video of me dancing at a family gathering! The music used within the piece is called ‘Tiger Tiger’ by Webkinz, one of my favorite and first internet games I ever played.

DESCRIPTION:”White Dress to Win” is a projection piece created with MadMapper. First, I gathered footage back from when I competed in pageants. I also found some photos and news articles as well about the people I used to work with. Then I sorted the images into different categories based on photos and videos and made new videos with those. Afterwards, I did a first test run in the studio with some help from my mom. There were some changes that occurred between that and the final run. The first test had some issues with the mask, so I instead decided to use a round foam circle in the final version. I also changed the news articles to be two videos instead of four because some of the articles did not appear well on screen. This project meant a lot to me because of my past with pageants and who I am today.

DESCRIPTION:”Camera Obscura” is a piece creating a Camera Obscura in my own home using everyday materials. I first covered the window in my dad’s office with industrial trash bags and painter’s tape. I then took a Keurig cup and used that to trace a hole in the middle of the trash bags to cut out. Afterwards, I cut a piece of cardboard to use as a ‘lens.’ I then turned off all the lights to see the result. My house unfortunately does not have many good windows to naturally project from so only a small bit of the tree outside was showing inside. I wish that there could have been more but with the resources I had at my home, it was not possible to naturally project much more into the room.
