Kyle Mungenast (they/them) is an award-winning student screenwriter, playwright, and experimental & narrative filmmaker currently pursuing a BFA in Film & Media Arts at the University of Tampa. Growing up with early theater and playwright experience, Kyle fell in love with the artistic process of creating a character, and began pursuing a passion for narrative scriptwriting. They wrote numerous one act plays, receiving the RMHS Excellence in Playwriting Award, and has had their short neo-noir screenplay IN ABSENTIA produced under a grant from Film Tampa Bay. IN ABSENTIA was awarded for Best Cinematic Collaboration at the 2019 BlackBox Film Festival. Most recently, Kyle’s LGBTQIA+ themed romantic comedy screenplay COME IN was produced and is currently in film festival circuits.
