PROFESSOR: Danilda Martinez
SEMESTER / TERM: SP 18
INSTITUTION: Palm Beach Atlantic University
Role: Director, Actor
DESCRIPTION: The hardest part of this project was finding the right fonts and making them readable within the title-safe region. I took two takes per shot, minimum, having already learned not to overshoot for too many options. The actors I chose were capable and willing to deliver the performances I required, and carried through to that end. This project taught me “the simpler, the more easily shortened.”

MEDIA: Video Art
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere Pro
CAMERA: Canon EOS Rebel T5i
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920×1080, 7’10”; 4’00”; 3’30”
SEMESTER / TERM: SUMMER 16
FOUNDATION: Volunteers In Service to the Elderly (VISTE)
Role: Everything behind the camera
DESCRIPTION: For this trilogy of promotional videos, I was first assigned to make only one, but I felt that I would end up cutting too much out of VISTE’s service story, so I proposed it as a trilogy and they were all in favor of the idea.

TITLE: SPCA Florida Playgroups, Critter Camp, Fostering Promos
MEDIA: Video Art
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere Pro
CAMERA: Canon EOS Rebel T5i
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920×1080, 0’30”; 0’30”; 3’35”
SEASON: SUMMER 16
FOUNDATION: Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Florida)
Role: Everything behind the camera
DESCRIPTION: These projects were simple applications of my attained skills from Harrison School for the Arts, and done in a familiar setting. The more field-oriented projects were not as steady as I would have preferred, so much of the footage was unusable purely for that reason. The interview-setting videos were laid out for me, but one of them had to be redone because I hadn’t noticed a certain cat licking itself incessantly in the background. The audio was fairly decent, and I made sure all the takes had no interference therein.

TITLE: Triumphant
MEDIA: Video Art
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere Pro
CAMERA: Canon Vixia G30
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920×1080, 4’35”
CLASS: MPA Digital Video Production 5/6/7
PROFESSOR: Richard Jansen
SEMESTER / TERM: SP 15
INSTITUTION: Harrison School for the Arts
Role: Camera B Operator, Editor
DESCRIPTION: My first promotional/documentary project, this piece hooked me on the art of capturing an experience over time and organizing it into a presentable form. This project taught me the importance of lighting consistency across multiple interviews, and that the in-camera audio often does good enough of a job to be used.
