DESCRIPTION: After the first scoring project, I really enjoyed the extra push it gave the scene. This time I chose the movie “Cast Away”. One interesting reason as to why I chose this movie is because of its lack of a score to begin with. The director wanted to drive home the feeling of isolation. Throughout the movie, especially when the main character is on the island, there is no soundtrack whatsoever. Despite the directors chose to lack this throughout the movie, I think that subtle ambient background tracks I have added help drive what the character in the scene is trying to convey.

DESCRIPTION: Other than the little time we spent in Logic Pro for another class, I had never spent time working with a music creation program like Ableton. However, after a little bit of tinkering I was able to find sounds that matched my scene. I decided to work with Scarface, not only because it is a great movie but I also lacks any kind of soundtrack for this last scene making it perfect to just slot my own score over the scene. I think the choice of drums was really good, however, they should have dropped out at some point sooner. I think, overall, the score matches the scene very well.
