DESCRIPTION: This is an image mandala I created using photos of cats at the animal shelter in my hometown. When I used to volunteer there, I took many photos of the cats that I worked with. I cropped and adjusted these photos in Photoshop, then used Adobe Dreamweaver to code them to move how I wanted them to, by using the cursor to change the image. I arranged and adjusted the photos so that they created a design when moving around or spinning in place.

DESCRIPTION: This is an interactive kinetic typography piece I created in Adobe Dreamweaver. I wanted to create a work that meant something to me personally. I took an image of a girl sitting and leaning on her hand from online and edited it in Photoshop to make it a transparent cutout. Using Dreamweaver, I coded it so that a psychedelic/tie-dye effect in her shape, while she is surrounded by a harsh red background and words that move as you move your mouse. The top half of the work is a collection of criticisms that I’ve heard being used against women, and the bottom half says “I do it for me” over and over again to signify the fact that most women do the things that they do for themselves and not for the attention or intention to please others. The huge word “Fake” across the center is one of the main insults I hear thrown around to tear women down, so I wanted to make that the most eye-catching part of the piece. Additionally, the white words floating around in the background are censored slurs that are often used against women.

DESCRIPTION: This is a mandala created from assets I drew in Adobe Illustrator. I wanted to create a fun, interactive mandala from Illustrator assets that reminded the audience of spring, so I included assets like raindrops, a flower in the middle, umbrellas, and rainbows. I created the assets in Illustrator, then arranged and coded them in Adobe Dreamweaver to get the interactive result that I wanted. I included lots of bright colors along with the springtime imagery to invoke memories of the season in the audience.

DESCRIPTION: This is a mandala I created using vector assets I did in Adobe Illustrator. I used Illustrator to create the vector assets, then arranged and coded them using Adobe Dreamweaver to get the interactive experience that I wanted. I wanted a flower-like pattern in the middle with the main color scheme being reds and oranges, with a touch of blue and purple to add a bit of an accent. If I were to do this again now, I would remove the dots that are flying around because they are a bit distracting, and also make the triangles in the middle a bit more controlled so it’s easier to manipulate them with the mouse.
