My group originally had a different film idea, but the day of our planned shoot we did not have enough actors and did not get clearance from our professor ahead of time. I had been wanting to make another music video and use different editing techniques so I took the opportunity to step up as director and came up with the idea two hours before we had to film.

DESCRIPTION: For this adaptation, I focused more on the stalker/male gaze of Hitchcock’s rear window. To do so I modernized the scene and showcased how if Jeff’s wandering eyes were caught, his behavior would be seen as predatory/invasive.

DESCRIPTION: For this project we were filming in a friends apartment so I was limited in what I could put up on the walls or change for art department. The key props we needed were a home phone, and magazines. The phone was a key plot point so I went thrifting to find something that would work.

DESCRIPTION: This project had a few challenges that really expanded my understanding of various key camera rigs. I had never used a gimbal before and I ended up shooting all of it with the Ronin S2. Setting up and operating the gimbal was very new and scary to me, but after spending lots of time before the shoot playing around with it I became very familiar with it’s operations. We also shot this project midday and I did not have anything to cover the camera monitor which made it very challenging to see what I was shooting–this taught me how important it is to go into any set prepared and with the proper equipment.
