 Digital Self Portrait
MEDIA: Digital Art
SOFTWARE: Adobe Illustrator
HARDWARE: MacOS Monterey

TERM: Spring 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa

DESCRIPTION:

Using Photoshop I traced over a self portrait I had taken, and created different shapes and colors to digital draw the picture. Playing with color and shadow was the most difficult aspect of recreation as well as trying to get the drawing to look as realistic as possible. I took creative liberty with the background, as the original images background wasn’t that interesting. In my opinion, I was really able to capture my eyes well in the recreation.

DESCRIPTION:

I created this project by using pre existing stock footage of human body parts like legs, toes, teeth and hair. I was able to create the texture of the landscape by repeatedly using the same section of hair and overlapping it to add depth. The “trees” and “scrubs” are made from legs, feet, arms and hands. The house itself is created from a section skin, and the windows are teeth. I was inspired by Star Night by Van Gogh as in that piece he used broad strokes of color to create an abstract landscape which is what it tried to utilize with the different hair colors and sections being layered.

TITLE: Digital Collage
MEDIA: Digital Art
SOFTWARE: Photoshop
HARDWARE: MacOS Monterey

TERM: Spring 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa

DESCRIPTION:

I created this digital collage in Photoshop meticulously cutting out the background from each object. I then artistically placed and layered each image to be visually interesting. From the lower left hand corner to the upper right the piece transitions from color to black and white. My goal was for the project to have a sort of surreal feel, which I think was successful.
