TITLE: Essence of Earth
MEDIA: Fragmented Video
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere
HARDWARE: MacOS Monterey
CLASS: FMX 463
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
TERM: Fall 2022
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of the fragmented video assignment was to separate multiple videos in one file to make it easier for projection mapping in Madmapper. I decided to use only my own videos I have collected from travels. I was inspired by kaleidoscopes especially in the section koi fish, as they begin to make patterns similar to a mandala. I also utilized negative space in some sections to where one video would be playing in a square and the others black. As an experimental film I think it works very well and will be testing more video ideas in this fragmented format.

TITLE: Large Scale Group Halloween Projection
MEDIA: Video Projection
SOFTWARE: Mad Mapper, Adobe Premiere, iPhone 12 Pro Max
HARDWARE: MacOS Monterey
CLASS: FMX 463
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
TERM: Fall 2022
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION:
I was lucky enough to participate in a group project where we projected videos through the windows of a house in Tampa. The projections were for Halloween so we all created montage videos using old-school animations like Silly symphony Skeleton Dance, as that is what the client wanted. It was great real world experience and helped me understand how this sort of technology could be used in a marketing aspect. I loved being able to see the peoples reactions from the street, as I don’t often get large groups of people to be able to view my work.

TITLE: Camera Obscura
MEDIA: Projection Photography
SOFTWARE: iPhone 12 Pro Max Camera
HARDWARE: MacOS Monterey
CLASS: FMX 463
PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry
TERM: Fall 2022
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION:
In order to understand basic projection we created camera obscuras in our bedrooms or other rooms that have direct sunlight and a window. In order to get the desired effect.First,I I blocked out my window using multiple layers of industrial strength garbage bags. Next, using a small piece of cardboard I cut a small hole and taped it to a small hole in the garbage bags. The effect was successful as you can see in the images above. I was able to achieve a projection of the building and the sky, the image is flipped which offers a very surreal visual.
