Description: This was one of the earlier assignments for my creative triangle class where each of my group members had a different role for 4 different projects. For this project, I was the cinematographer and the editor to re-create the dance sequence from The Breakfast Club. Being in this class helped me realize that I liked not controlling the camera. I’d rather focus on the artistic side of production such as the set design and wardrobe for the characters since I relied so heavily on my other group member who was much more experienced with cinematography compared me.
YOUR ROLE: Producer, Cinematographer (for my segment)
TYPE: Documentary
CAMERA: Canon t7i
SOFTWARE: Adobe Premiere Pro
SPECIFICATIONS: 1920x1080p, H.264
DURATION: 11’45”
CLASS: FMX 324 Cinematography

SEMESTER / TERM: Spring 2020

Timecode to focus on: 11:29
Description: This was mine along with three other people’s final project for cinematography. Due to the pandemic, we had to finish this project over zoom. Therefore, we decided to document our lives during quarantine at different parts of the day. My section starts at 9:43 and lasts through the end of the video. I found this one of the more difficult projects not only because we’re apart so we couldn’t do a full-on production like previous cinematography classes but I didn’t have the equipment to record anything. Thus, I created my part by renting out a camera and while it wasn’t my best work, I’m glad I got the experience to do so.
