DESCRIPTION: Our final digital assignment for the class. Even though this isn’t anything like what I’ve done since then, I think it helped me understand what other teachers like to see more. It’s weird having to break away from symmetrical design and making things look sporadic, but I can tell this was the point where I started to get it. It looked nice when it was printed and mounted too, and the people at the copy place thought it was neat.

DESCRIPTION: Design and limited palette studies. I really enjoyed this project if only because I’ve always liked messing with limited colors in my own independent work. We were meant to keep the designs looking similar enough to be mounted together, so I tried to use the same general shapes and themes of repetition. When I went to the gallery on campus in early 2019, I saw them as part of the student exhibit, which put into perspective just how much I’ve learned since.

DESCRIPTION: This was a larger project where we made and mounted a bunch of designs based on simple shapes. It was basically just a test of the program we were using and all the alignment tools. I still had fun doing it, even if I didn’t break the boundaries as much as the professor was hoping. A few of these I actually am still decently proud of, and would love to throw color on and use as a logo for something.
