Cecelia Vicoli
BFA in Animation
Spring 2019
Expected Graduation- Spring 2019

My Name is Cecelia Vicoli and I am an Animation Major at the University of Tampa. I am constantly practicing in all areas of Animation but I am usually efficient in Animating in 2D.  I really enjoy 2D Animation, specifically the Pre-production and Production side of the project. I like working on the concept art, storyboards and drawing frame by frame. I practice my illustrating regularly and find I am good at drawing my characters and bringing them to life on screen.

When it comes to the tools I needed to get to where I am in my education there are a few tools and professors that really helped me understand the material and gave me the information I needed.  I have had Dana Corrigan for a number of classes and she has really helped me expand on my 2D animation.  She taught me how to use Adobe Animate as well as Toon Boom Harmony and I now use a Wacom tablet all the time for any kind of drawing I do.  I am getting much quicker at illustrating through my tablet, which is helping me accomplish my projects a little bit quicker.  Another Professor that I have learned from is my Advisor and Creative Coding Professor Santiago Echeverry.  He raises the bar and pushes me to get to the next level.  I have learned how to create and manipulate images, illustrations and videos in a different medium that I never really thought about before with Adobe Dreamweaver.

I’d say my weaknesses fall under Rigging a model. There is not a class offered in Rigging at UT and I have only ever taken one class that involved a basic knowledge of the concept.  I am not a fan of Rigging so I have not tried to go out of my way to learn more about the basics of how to Rig a character, though I did get a basic understanding of it in Beginning 3D Animation.

When I graduate my plan would be to find a job in Animating in 2D. Over the last couple of years’, I have definitely learned something about myself and along with taking Animation II I found the path I want to take when I graduate. The 2D side has captured my attention and fascination and I am ready to expand on the process even further in the future.
