Sydney “Squid” Fleming is an illustrator, animator, freelancer, and entrepreneur, born and raised on the island of St.Croix, U.S.Virgin Islands. After being reduced to tears by her third-grade art teacher she put art aside as an act of self-preservation. While coasting through her criminology degree, she took an intro-level digital arts course and now goes nowhere without a Wacom tablet. Now an animation major at the University of Tampa, she has made herself proficient in a multitude of industry-standard software such as Toon Boom, Storyboard pro, the Adobe Suite, Maya, and Cinema 4d. She has goals of adding coding to her arsenal as well scaling up her Caribbean-centered clothing brand MELANIMATED™.
