Statement

I produce electronic music under the name chompchomp. When I graduated high school, my dad bought me a small MIDI keyboard as a gift. The keyboard came with a free version of a music producing software called Ableton. I didn’t start creating and releasing music until about two years ago. I uploaded these songs to YouTube and SoundCloud as an easier way to show my music to my friends.

Eventually, I started putting my music on platforms such as iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, and Google Play. In October 2018, I released my first EP called Sojourn. That following December, I released a single called “Kogarashi.” Then, in February 2019, I released my second EP,Happy to Be Home.

For my senior project, I am producing my debut album titled Architect. I bought a huge library of samples, and the implementation and manipulation of these samples have influenced the sound and style of this album. This project is my largest musical endeavor to date, and I look forward to sharing it with the world.

Pre-Production

I created the album cover before I started working on the music because I wanted the feeling of the songs to more or less reflect the feeling of the cover.

Production

I work in Ableton Live. Here are some screenshots of the project files.

Post-Production

“Come Inside, It’s Raining”
“Riverfront”
“Cyanic”
“Bayshore”
“Safari”
“Ensorcell”
“The Void”
“Biblioklept”
“Strange Places”

My friend Vincent Del Conte is a travel photographer. He took these pictures when he was in Australia and Singapore. I sent him the album, he listened to it, and he paired each song with one of his photos.
