Post-production was definitely a long process for this film. Not only did I need to edit and color grade the actual film, I also had to create the sound track from scratch. Editing wasn’t too bad, I found that when working with child actors they have a tendency to look at the camera and there were many times that they did that I didn’t catch in the moment. Thankfully, I had enough footage to work around this issue. Color grading proved to be difficult at times because being that we were outside the whole time, the sun shifted, varying the color from clip to clip. Making sure that all the clips matched in color was a little difficult, but I managed in the end. The hardest part of post-production however, was creating the score. I’ve scored small projects before but never one this extensive. Making sure all of the music segments fit together as one cohesive piece was something that I didn’t think would be as challenging as it was. In the end, I’m really proud of how the score came out and how I was able to blend all the small segments together into one.
