Indya Kristensen, FMA Major, Fall 2018, expecting to graduate Summer 2019. https://fmx298.santiago.bz/ikristensen/wp-admin/post.php?post=35&action=edit

Throughout my experience here at UT, I have gained lots of new skills and experiences. While I have grasped most of these concepts, my weakness would probably be Adobe Premier. Mainly because I haven’t used it much, due to the fact that I haven’t taken Advanced Post Production yet, and look forward to learning my way around that software.

I love working behind the camera and setting up the most creative shots I can, and that would definitely be one of my strengths. Once I’m on set and I have an understanding for how the scene should go, I immediately have many ideas of how I want it to look and love executing them.

The professors here are very passionate about what they do and I feel really comfortable talking to them about my projects or asking for help. My favorite class to date would have to be Experimental Production with Warren Cockerham. The film style we’re learning really match my own and the creative freedom we get for these projects really inspires me to go outside of the box and challenges me at the same time. We’ve learned things that I never thought I’d get to learn, like how to shoot with 16mm film.

After I graduate I plan to start working on smaller local film sets to gain more experience in the film and collect as many skills as I can from each type of crew member on set so I can become a director. I want to create films no one has seen before, to step out of the box and really push creative limits.
