One of our first projects in Beginning 3D Animation, this one really helped me to understand some of the basic fundamentals of animation (squash and stretch, arc, anticipation, etc.) when doing 3D versus 2D. I think this was a great first exercise to get us really used to the actual process of animating in 3D/Maya.

This was another great project for understanding some of the key elements when animating in Maya. It helped for me to learn balance and to think about placement and character even more. I found this to be so much easier in 3D animation versus when we did this in 2D.

This project was definitely one of the most difficult for me, as the motion of hula-hooping was hard to recreate. The character was provided by Professor Corrigan and then we were tasked to create our own prop and to make the character interact with the prop in some way. I went for a more simple prop and a harder animation.

Our final project in the class was to take a given character and animate them to a dialogue. I used a clip from Toy Story because I thought this character looked very alien-like. This project was tedious, but it was also pretty fun. I enjoyed doing this project a lot because the end result was really satisfying.
