DESCRIPTION: Throughout the semester we edited various sets of clips into short films, including this one. The clips were not in a specific order and some sound effects needed to be inserted, so deciphering the correct order of events and making a shot order that made sense was a challenge. I tried to keep the editing as inobtrusive as possible so the story could flow naturally.

DESCRIPTION: This was an editing practice to get used to the software AVID. There were some technical problems and general difficulty I had using the software, but was able to complete all the editing assignments we had to use AVID for. Simply learning how to line up clips, cut them together, add transitions, and export the video in AVID was a big learning experience compared to other software so despite the simplicity of this video, it taught me a lot about the software.

DESCRIPTION: We were tasked with creating a documentary, and the date of the assignment happened to coincide with a comic convention going on in downtown Tampa, so I thought attending it could lead to an interesting documentary. Filmmaking definitely isn’t my strong point and I could have done a better job filming, as many shots are shaky and I used too many long, panning shots overall. I took so much video at the convention that it was difficult to decide what to include in the film and what sort of narrative to create. Ultimately it was a positive experience as many people at the convention were excited to be on camera.
