DESCRIPTION: “What We Do in Tampa” is a “mockumentary” about a vampire living in Tampa. Since this was for my narrative production class, I took this script and actually made it into a short film. The plot is as follows: as the world becomes more aware of the existence of vampires, Thomas, a 200-year-old vampire, decides to take part in an upcoming documentary about their existence. The documentary touches on many topics such as, how he became a vampire, how he survives living in one of the sunniest places in the world and most importantly, how he feeds.

TITLE: Like a Girl
MEDIA: Spoken Word Video Script
SOFTWARE: Microsoft Word
PAGES: 2
CLASS: FMX 211 Art and Technology
PROFESSOR: Elena Cifuentes
TERM: Spring 2021
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: This script was from my performance art video and is made up completely of an original spoken word poem. The poem talks about how women and girls are often brought down for the way they look and act. Phrases like “you throw like a girl” or “you run like a girl” are often used in a negative context and promote the idea that the female gender is weak. Originally, I was asked to write and perform this poem at a book launch for a group of female authors talking about their lives and how they overcame many struggles that lead them to where they are today. For the performance art assignment, I took the original poem and revised and added to it, allowing it to translate better to video.
TITLE: Heart to Heart
MEDIA: Documentary Proposal

TERM: Spring 2020
INSTITUTION: University of Tampa
DESCRIPTION: “Heart to Heart” is a proposal for a documentary about medical neglect present in the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. Between 2016 and 2017, at least 11 patients died after undergoing surgeries at the hospital. In 2017, the death rate had sharply increased, and state investigations began. What they would find is a string of medical negligence in the form of improper sanitary conditions of the rooms and medical equipment, improper surgical techniques, and non-communication between patient and surgeon. The news behind these deaths never spread beyond the Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg area. My idea behind proposing this as a documentary was to bring the story to a wider audience outside of the local area. It would bring awareness to parents, especially those with young children that need to undergo not only heart operations but any life saving operations. It also would show that just because a hospital is branded with a title as prestigious as Johns Hopkins, doesn’t always mean it’s the best option.
