DESCRIPTION: For this project, I created an autoscopy for something significant to me. I thought of what in my life gives me an out-of-body experience in an external place in my mind. The most powerful message I could think of was the grief I have been feeling since the passing of my best friend. Around the time this assignment was made was the two anniversary of a car accident that ended a life too soon. I fed upon the pain I felt as a significant inspiration for this piece. The picture I took of myself was taken at a time when I did not feel like myself at the present moment of the project. I then layered over the many pictures of my grief at different time frames where I was coming to terms with the fact he was gone. The photos included when I first saw his grave, the last picture of him, and the text I got the day I found out that he had passed. I believed adding a blue raining tone in the background of these images would add to the moody essence of this piece. This piece helped me come to terms with and express myself when words were not enough.

DESCRIPTION: For my multiplicity project, I needed to make a scene where I was portrayed in multiple positions across an image. Since I couldn’t be in five different places simultaneously, I had to take a photo of myself in each pose and edit it together in photoshop for one cohesive image. When I was thinking about my scene, I thought of what I could do that was unique. I decided that I could involve my dog to have not only multiple pictures of me but also multiple pictures of her. Since my dog is not the most trained animal, I thought the best way to photograph the two of us was to bring her to the park; little did I know it was raining, and we had to improvise. I went through the motions of a lovely day out at the dog park, petting my dog, leading her on the leash, looking for rain, answering the phone, and searching for my dog while she ran around. It wasn’t easy to match up some of the shadows and make sure that none of my images overlapped in the edit, but overall this piece is one that I still have fun posting about and looking back on.

DESCRIPTION: For my black and white to colors project, I needed to take a photo of myself, convert it to black and white with my phone, and then use photoshop to create colorful images. The trick to this project was that I could only use five colors at most and must choose from multiple color schemes to enhance my image. I decided to go with a blue monochromatic, green and purple complementary, and then the final triadic color scheme. One of the biggest challenges of this piece was outlining my hair and glasses to make sure I could separate the colors without a messy overlap. The glowing outline in the blue monochromatic image was sharp in a way that made the image pop even without multiple colors being present. The triadic color scheme created a carnival image with various colors distributed throughout. My favorite of the three was the green and purple complementary because I believe this picture popped the most, in contrast, giving the image a zombie-like feel that added fun to the piece.
