This is by far one of my favorite pieces I have done in my college career thus far. This was a very challenging pieces because it was the first time I have ever worked with typography and digital manipulation. I was assigned to write a letter to my current self from my future self in 10 years explaining how to live a successful life. It was a project that was really personal to me and helped me through one of the hardest times I’ve had in college. It helped me grow as an artist and truly appreciate all the little details.

This was a piece I did for my beginning Digital Arts class back in the Spring of 2016. We had to take a self portrait and digitally manipulate it using cohesive shapes. This was a very challenging piece for me and took me over 17 hours to accomplish. It really helped develop my skills in Illustrator and, because of this project, is my favorite Adobe Platform.

For this assignment, we had to remake a scary movie poster using imagery from the movie. I love horror films and The Strangers is one of my favorites. For this poster, I wanted to experiment with no outlines and flat, bulky color. This was also the first project I really started to love the Wacom tablet.

This assignment was meant to explore pixilation and we worked with a very small pixel grid and the pencil tool in Photoshop to create 3 self-portrait busts and turn them into a fluid gif. This was a fun project because it showed me how to animate in photoshop as well as play around with a grid and pixels.

For this assignment, we were tasked with picking an album cover and recreating it in our own style using imagery and ideas from the album. I decided to go with Chance the Rappers album “3,” which is one of my favorite albums. The cover is a very orange and pink pastel color with Chance the Rapper’s portrait. Chance is from Chicago, just like I am, and his album was mainly about him growing up in the city. I used the same colors as the cover and made the skyline the main priority after the name of the album. I really enjoyed how it turned out.

For this assignment, we were tasked with creating a comic book strip for our final exam. Since I have been in the hospitality industry for the last 5 years, I wanted to make my comic about some of the struggles I have faced as a server. I did the rough sketching, inking, and coloring on my iPad and then I brought it into Adobe illustrator to add text and make adjustments. I don’t typically draw in a cartoon style, so this one was fun for me.
