DESCRIPTION: I picked a Banana. This assignment was a little harder, specifically recreating the stem with shading and different vector shapes. I think the actual coloring and the stem itself turned out pretty impressive. I think my actual tracing is a little rough in certain spots. I worked really hard on this project, and personally was one of the more advanced things I’ve done in illustrator! I thought the overall shading was almost spot on!

DESCRIPTION: This was my second project and first time on illustrator, I’m ecstatic with how it turned out! That previous summer I had been obsessed with the rock band ELO ,so I decided I’d do something related to that. I ended up using their most famous song Mr.Blue Sky, and that song always makes me think of aliens. I have a bunch of simplistic art saved on Pinterest and saw this photo saved on my account. This picture ended up being the perfect level for me to work on, it had tons of curves to be able to practice the pen tool! I tried using different types of colors to enhance the image and really make the alien pop. If the picture isn’t clear its an alien, 3 stars, and a small planet.

DESCRIPTION: This may have been the hardest project yet. I really struggled to blend my face in well, but I think I did a good job. The edges on the left side of my face are a little rugged, but I tried my best. I ended up doing the “Girl with a Pearl Earring Painting by Johannes Vermeer”. I thought it was a recognizable piece of art that wasn’t as popular as Van Gough, so I thought it would stand out. I liked the filters and editing I used to make it look like a painting. The blending with the headband was a little tricky cause it would’ve been easier to blend hair. I would say for struggling with the project I did a pretty decent job. I think really reflecting, I should have take a picture to fit this instead of “finding” a similar enough selfie, because the angle is the foundational issue.
