The Haiku Project was the first project given in my Intro to Sound, Image, and Motion class. The requirements were that it had to embody a haiku; the first part was 20 seconds, the second 30 seconds, and the third 20 seconds, two seconds of black in between each part, the audio could not be lyrical, and both the audio and video had to be our own recorded files. This was the first time I had constrictions on creating a live motion film. I believe that I did a fairly good job of keeping to the poem I chose, “love comes in circles, words flow from my mouth to yours, sweet like the river.” I enjoyed using tools I never knew about in Adobe Premiere Pro as well. Professor Moore was not only helpful at the beginning of the class but also considerate, helping everyone individually at their own knowledge levels of the software.

The Obstructions Project was a chance to break away from the styles that you were used to, with Professor Moore giving each student two obstructions to work with. My two obstructions were a split screen and only one character could be used. After creating my storyboard, I realized that it was a lot more to handle than expected. Since it was split screen, I had to film twice the amount of data, sometimes making it difficult to continue to create new ways to film something. Overall, I had fun creating this project, but it was the most challenging project I had in my Intro to Sound, Image, and Motion class.

This promotional video was made to highlight the Bowties & Beauties event happening on June 30, 2018, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The event is mainly focused on the 8-count dance, stepping. It is also raising awareness for Alzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Foundation. Making this video reminded me how much I enjoy making short promotional videos and music videos, much like I have done in the past. My main challenge was simply getting decent quality videos from the artist since most of his videos were extremely difficult to find. Calvin Richardson has given permission for both the use of audio and video shown.

The Tech Olympics is a friendly competition at the end of each semester of the Technical Theatre class. Alex Amyot, the Technical Director at David Falk Theatre, asked me to create this promotional video highlighting what his students have learned between the shop and the stage. Since I am passionate about theatre and the work that entails behind the scenes, I really enjoyed creating this video. If I were to go back and change something, I would make a more advanced title, either using Adobe AfterEffects or Maya.
